Breadth of opportunity remains at the heart of a Newland House education. The creative and sporting areas of school life are as important as any other and children taught by specialist teachers who foster a deep understanding and passion for their subjects. Pupils are challenged in their learning, supported to become increasingly independent and organised, and encouraged to develop critical thinking and effective study skills.

Our excellent pastoral care system ensures that children are happy, secure and well looked after. This supports their academic growth as well as their social, emotional, and physical development.

Your child will join one of four Houses: Saturn, Jupiter, Vulcan or Neptune, and they will represent their House in sporting and music events and compete to earn House points and prizes. The House system instils a strong sense of community and belonging, making all House events calendar highlights!

We empower children to develop their character and take advantage of every opportunity available to them. Roles such as Prefect, House Captain, or Librarian provide real opportunities for responsibility and leadership and Form Captains and Vice Captains represent their classes at the School Council, enabling a diverse range of children to have their voices heard.

We expect all Newland House pupils to be kind and empathetic, always try their best, and contribute positively to both the school and the wider community.
