Payment Of fees
School fees are payable before the first day of each term.
School Fee Plan
School Fee Plan are a provider of finance for School Fees, such as allowing you to pay in monthly instalments. You can find out more about them here.
Notice Period
One clear term’s written notice is required in writing prior to your child leaving the School. A term’s fees become payable in lieu if this notice period is not met.
Early Years Funding
All 3 and 4-year-old children are entitled to receive the government’s Universal Early Education Entitlement following the term after their third birthday up until and including the term in which they turn 5.
The entitlement is for up to fifteen hours per week. Newland House School and Nursery School can provide funded nursery education places for 33 weeks per year.
As of September 2024, Early Education Funding is worth £6.35 per hour. For the 2024/25 academic year this equated to approximately £1,048 rebate per term; this figure will be offset against the Nursery fees and fees in Reception up until and including the term before your child turns 5. Parents will be invoiced for the balance.
You will be asked to complete a Parent Declaration Form once your child joins the Nursery.
Please note that Newland House Nursery does not participate in the Extended Entitlement of an additional 15 hours of funding. Further information on Early Years Education Funding is available from the London Borough of Richmond.
Fees in Advance
We offer a fees in advance scheme for payment of school fees.
- Minimum payment £1,000 – maximum payment full fee.
- Minimum duration 3 terms – maximum duration 15 terms.
This scheme does not fix school fees. For more details, please contact the Bursar rgrant@newlandhouse.net
Bursaries
The Governors set aside a small percentage of the school’s annual fee income towards a Discretionary Fund.
The purpose of this fund is to support existing families experiencing financial difficulties, educational causes within the local community and to provide bursaries to pupils who may not otherwise have the opportunity to receive an independent school education or whose parents have suffered sudden financial difficulties. The school will expect any pupil receiving financial assistance to make a significant contribution to the life of the school. Application forms for financial assistance can be obtained from the Bursar. All bursaries are reviewed annually.
Childcare Vouchers
If you have childcare vouchers from an existing (pre April 2018) employer’s salary sacrifice scheme they can be used for fees, provided your child is still 4 years old at the beginning of the term, and for Wrap Around Care and holiday clubs.
New Tax-Free Childcare Scheme
The new Tax-Free Childcare scheme (TFC) provides working parents with another option for tax savings on their childcare direct through the Government.
Parents are able to open a new childcare account and for every £8 a parent pays into their childcare account, the government will pay in an extra £2. Parents can get up to £2000 government support per child per year towards their childcare costs (up to £500 every 3 months).
