Community Partnerships and Charitable Support
Newland House plays an active role within the community, investing in shared community sports facilities, supporting local and national charities, and offering the use of our facilities.
Bushy Park Sports Club (BPSC)
Newland House enjoys an on-going partnership with Bushy Park Sports Club (formerly the National Physical Laboratory Sports Club), ideally located on the borders of Bushy Park.
Our pupils benefit from their excellent and well-maintained facilities for field sports practice and fixtures, and we’re proud to have invested considerably in the redevelopment of the clubhouse to the mutual benefit of the local community.
Bushy Park Sports Club is managed by a group of volunteer trustees who are dedicated to offering sports, fitness and social activities to as many local people as possible. These include football, hockey, tennis, cricket, table tennis, dance, yoga and pilates as well as the use of the gym.
Charitable Fundraising
Throughout the year we are involved in raising money for a variety of charities. From an early age, we encourage children to help others, recognise those less fortunate than themselves and learn to become caring world citizens.
Each year, our Head Boy and Head Girl select a charity and many of our fundraising activities throughout the year, such as quizzes, sponsored events and sales are in support of their named charity.
Charities supported over the year have included Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity; Street Invest; React, (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with potentially Terminal illness; Momentum – who support families and children being treated for cancer in the local Boroughs; Horse Rangers Association – who support Riding for the Disabled and Keen London who operate free weekly sports and recreation sessions for children and young adults with learning, behavioural and physical disabilities. We also regularly support other charities including MacMillan Cancer Support, Ruils, the Anti-Bullying Alliance and Children in Need.
Use of our facilities
We are delighted to share our facilities with local organisations and community groups.
