The Pre-Prep School Day
This is what your child might get up to during a typical day at Newland House Pre-Prep
What to Wear
The Nursery uniform is a pair of black jogging bottoms or leggings worn with a Newland House red T-shirt and sweatshirt. It is comfortable and practical – perfect for an active day in Nursery.
From Reception, children wear the Newland House uniform which includes a white shirt, grey shorts/trousers/skirt, grey jumper or red cardigan and a school tie. There is also an option of a summer dress and blazers are optional from Year 1. White sports kit is worn for PE.
You can find out more on our uniform page.
Food and Nutrition
Children bring in a healthy snack which is eaten at 10am and School provides fruit at 2pm. A delicious hot lunch is taken with year groups on rotation, in the Pre-Prep hall from 12 o clock.
Children are encouraged to enjoy a varied diet but lunch is always pressure free. The cost of lunch is included in your school fees, and we do not offer an option to bring in a packed lunch.
You can find out more about our catering team and menus here.
Toileting
The Hub classrooms are ‘en suite’ allowing our youngest children direct access to child sized toilets with their teachers on hand to support if required. Older children can access child-sized toilets freely and are specifically reminded to go three times a day.
Children are supported in a positive manner if they have an accident. We encourage them to change independently but are on hand to assist if necessary.
