Drama

The performing arts play an influential role in our School culture. Drama gives all children the opportunity to express their imagination and creativity.

Drama at newland house

Immersing children in the world of theatre not only develops confidence and self-awareness, but also helps to develop strong communication and performance skills.

In Drama, we often explore characters and their journeys, developing empathy skills. We delve into a variety of acting techniques and styles, working from scripts as well as improvising and devising our own pieces. We pride ourselves in the quality of our performances and every child has many opportunities to shine on stage, enabling them to hone their skills and create memories.

Our Prep Hall has retractable seating and a professional light and sound system to support our ambitious productions.  Pupils also have the chance to explore technical theatre, and are given the opportunity to assist with lighting, sound and other technical elements during productions.

LAMDA Lessons

Each week , over 100 pupils participate in LAMDA lessons. If your child has a real passion for acting or would like to work on valuable communication and presentation skills, we offer sessions at School with one of our highly trained visiting LAMDA teachers
